About Cavalli Estate
Cavalli Estate is a relatively new winery situated just off the R44 in Stellenbosch. Their restaurant has won numerous Eat Out Awards and their wines are also starting to make waves in the wine industry.
This winery is not just your average vineyard estate. Yes, they have 26 hectares under vine but their total estate is 100 hectars! Horse lovers will be pleased to know that "Cavalli" is an Italian word that means "horses."
An Equestrian Estate
The Cavalli Equestrian facility is situated on over 100 hectares of land and includes an outdoor arena plus indoor training arena attached to 20 state of the art stables. They have 10 hectares of paddocks with a world-class indoor equestrian arena. The estate also has 10 hectares of indigenous gardens, a 3,300-square-metre public space with a 100-seater restaurant, a 350-seater banqueting/wedding venue, a 600-square-metre art gallery and a gorgeous wine-tasting room that is set right beside a lake.
Biodiversity
What I love about this estate is that it is completely modern and the current owner has a passion for architecture and biodiversity/conservation. Cavalli’s environmental agenda is to conserve the endangered ecological zones of the Cape Floral Kingdom-A Unesco World Heritage site and home to 90% of South Africa’s Wine industry.
