Red Wine Event: Durbanville Wine Valley Taste of Terroir Soiree 8 August 2025

Durbanville Wine Valley has a winter red wine event coming up called the Taste of Terroir red wine soirée. This event will take place on Friday, 8 August 2025, at Loch Lynne Wine Estate.

The Taste of Terroir annual event allows you to explore a curated selection of award-winning reds from nine leading Durbanville Wine Valley producers, including:

  • Nitida

  • Meerendal

  • Maastricht

  • Mellish Family Vineyards

  • Klein Roosboom

  • Groot Phesantekraal

  • Durbanville Hills

  • D’Aria

  • De Grendel

  • Diemersdal

You’ll get to meet the winemakers, taste across vintages and styles, and find out what makes Durbanville’s cool-climate reds so unique.

A Historic Pinotage Collaboration Makes Its Debut

I am excited to learn that for the first time, Durbanville Wine Valley will launch a limited-release Pinotage, created as a collaborative blend by all participating producers. The reason for this special collaboration is to celebrate three big milestones that our country has celebrated this year:

🍇 200 years of Durbanville’s heritage
🍷 100 years since the creation of Pinotage
🗣️ 100 years of Afrikaans as an official language

This is a rare opportunity to be among the very first to taste a wine that showcases the Valley’s shared knowledge, passion and terroir.

Durbanville Wines Are Winning Big

Did you know that Durbanville’s red wines are receiving international praise:

  • De Grendel Op die Berg Syrah95 points in Winemag’s 2025 Shiraz Report
